Direct PTZ support -The client communicates with the device using the appropriate proprietary PTZ protocol, and the device translates these to the protocol specified in the device's configuration and forwards them to the integrated PTZ telemetry unit. This setting is typically used for combined IP cameras and PTZ devices.
Pass-Through PTZ support - The client communicates with the device using the appropriate proprietary PTZ protocol, and the device forwards them to the connected PTZ telemetry unit. This setting is typically used when an IP camera or video encoder is connected to an analog video camera and PTZ telemetry unit via a serial cable and analog video cable.
Switching to HTTP
To use any PTZ functionality with a UDP Technology device, you must first switch the device's web server to use HTTP.
Caution: If you do not switch to HTTP, the device status will be incorrectly shown as unavailable, and PTZ controls will not function.
