How do I start up a program that is not in the Start menu?

To start a program that is not in the Windows Start menu, you can use the Run program.

To open the Run dialog, select Run from the Windows Start menu, or hold the Windows key and press the "R" key.

If the Start menu item Start>Run is missing you can enable it as follows:

  1. Right-click the Start menu button.
  2. Choose Properties and select the Start Menu tab.
  3. Click Customize then select the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Start menu items list-box, locate the Run command entry and check the box against it.
  5. Click OK twice to apply the change.
